~ Day 8 (Saturday) ~
We’ll have breakfast in the Clarion restaurant.

Today you can go on an excursion with members of our group and a guide, or you can enjoy the city on your own. You will be on your own for lunch today. Our excursions will be tailored to the group’s interests, and may include:
  • Ice skating on the canals in downtown Stockholm – only if conditions are safe.
  • Visiting art museums.
  • A tour of the Butterfly House/Bird House/Botanical Gardens.

We will have a final group dinner in the historic “caverns” of Old Town, in a very cozy restaurant below street level called Movitz (www.movitz.com).

Movitz is in the heart of Stockholm, so after dinner you can easily walk to much of the night life of Stockholm. I will provide you with a list of my favorite pubs and music clubs, but you can choose from the countless places to go out in Stockholm.

Stockholm is distinctly Scandinavian and has a vibrant, cosmopolitan allure. Practically everyone speaks great English, and as Sweden has one of the highest levels of education in the world, I find Swedes to be a generally thoughtful people in addition to friendly and jovial.
